Abu Dhabi
 

Abu Dhabi is the largest of all seven emirates with an area of 67,340 square kilometers, equivalent to 86.7% of the country’s total area, excluding the islands. Its coastline extends for more than 400 kilometers. The Emirates is divided into three regions. The first is the city of Abu Dhabi. The second is known Eastern Region, has its capital Al Ain city. The Western Region, The emirates third, comprises of 52 villages and has its capital Bida Zayed, or Zayed city.

In addition to the three mainland regions of Abu Dhabi, There are a number of important islands within the emirate including Das, Mubarraz, Zirku & Arzanah, near where the main offshore oil fields are located. Closer inshore are Dalma, Sir Bani Yas, Merawah & Saadityat, together with many smaller islands.

Just 40 years ago, Abu Dhabi, now the island capital of the UAE was a small fishing village, today, mainly as a result of revenue from oil, it is one of the world’s richest cities, with tree-lined boulevards, lush green parks, gushing fountains and magnificent skyscrapers. Abu Dhabi is a combination of ultra-modern sophistication and Arabian mystique.

MAGICAL ABU DHABI - Price: £56.00 per person
Abu Dhabi is the capital of the UAE and the seat of the Federal Government. Modern skyscrapers struggling for space on this small island. Along the picturesque Corniche, you can find numerous fountains surrounded by trees, flowers which brings delight to the eyes. At the UAE Women’s Association, local women proudly demonstrate their ancient handicraft skills in knitting and weaving.

The restored Bastakia houses and heritage village give an insight into how life was 40 years ago, before the arrival of the oil. Nevertheless, old fishing boats are still made according to the traditional methods in the Dhow-building Yard. Enjoy lunch at the famous Emirates Palace.

DESERT SAFARI WITH BBQ (HALF-DAY TOUR) - Price: £35.00 per person
After settling down in the 4 WD vehicles, the jeeps will speed through the desert of the golden sand dunes. The dune bashing or desert driving continues with the thrill of going up and down, the dunes provoking many shrieks and laughter full of excitement. The final leg of this program takes us to the main campsite.

This will be definitely the highlight of the trip. You will witness a memorable sight –the true Arabian sunset with its glory and magic. At the dusk there is an opportunity to try some camel riding nearby the Bedouin camp. A delicious BBQ dinner is prepared on an open fire and a variety of beverages is available. The set up in this camp is of Persian rugs and traditional accessories to create a typical Bedouin camp under the stars. The tempo of the music increases as the belly dancer starts dancing to the rhythm of the band. What a better way to experience a true Arabian night than this.

DHOW CRUISE DINNER - Price: £28.00 per person
A romantic way of spending an evening aboard Dhow, traditional boat in Arabia, gently cruising along the shores of Abu Dhabi and experience the natural beauty, savor the mouth-watering BBQ grills.

Your voyage departs from Zayed Free Port, sails leisurely past the impressive man-made Lulu Island past Abu Dhabi’s brilliantly illuminated minarets, domes and towers that line the Corniche.

Oil has now altered not only the daily life, but also the very fabric of the society. The Petroleum Exhibition clearly demonstrates this dramatic progress. However, this has not stopped the traditional manufacturing methods of the old fishing boats in the Dhow-building Yard.

AL AIN CITY TOUR - Price: £32.00 per person

This town is an oasis framed by red and golden sand dunes along with bizarrely shaped hills, and because of its constant blooms throughout the year, Al Ain acquired the attributed name of the "Flower City". The town winds itself around the border of the sultanate of Oman. It is also famous by the charming Buraimi oasis, the amazing souk and the 1000 year old falj system.

The ancient heritage of this civilization is surrounded by a botanical garden, while the history of the Bedouins is displayed in the biggest Museum in the Emirates. The Camel Souk also distributes to the town's Arabian cultured atmosphere. Al Ain is a fantasy of flourishing greenery in the middle of the golden desert.

DUBAI CITY TOUR - Price: £25.00 per person
As the Trading center of the Middle East, Dubai is divided in two by a natural lagoon, still used today as a harbour for dhows (Arabic trading vessels). The spice trade activities give the city its special aroma, which reaches from the harbour to the world famous gold souk .
